The Peeple Learning Together Program (LTP) is an exciting initiative focused on working hand-in-hand with families to support the development of young children. Rooted in community engagement, this program has been warmly welcomed in the community. It aims to strengthen early childhood development by focusing on key areas including: personal, social and emotional growth, communication and language, early literacy, early mathematics, as well as health and physical well-being. The enthusiasm from both parents and the babies has created a vibrant and supportive environment for learning.
What stands out most as a facilitator is the sight of parents arriving with their babies, eager to participate in the sessions. This deep level of engagement shows a growing awareness of the critical role parents play in a child’s early years. The sessions are interactive and practical, offering parents tools and knowledge that can be used in everyday life. Each sessionbrings its unique energy and it has been encouraging to witness the growth in confidence and understanding among the participants.
One of the most touching moments came from Dorris Mulei, a participant, who shared, “As an older parent, I deeply wish someone had taught me these things when I was raising my children. I have come to realize that a parent is the child’s first and most important teacher.” Her words reflect the essence of the Peeple program in empowering families with knowledge, nurturing confidence, and creating a foundation for lifelong learning beginning right at home.
