An exciting announcement by Board of Trustees Chair Marsha Trant:
The Board of Kenya Connect is thrilled that after a rigorous search, Lindsay Kincaid will be serving as the next Executive Director after Sharon Runge’s retirement at the end of June. Lindsay is well known to Kenya Connect, as a partner, volunteer and board member. Her commitment to our mission combined with her background in education and international development will help her steward Kenya Connect into the future.
Lindsay Kincaid is an educator, researcher, and nonprofit leader who helps communities strengthen learning — by supporting educators, building partnerships, and growing sustainable programs. Her career has spanned public school classrooms and global nonprofit leadership, with a steady focus on locally led work and long-term capacity building.
Most recently, Lindsay served as Chief Program Officer at Team4Tech, where she advanced the organization’s approach to sustained partner support and helped grow a global Community of Practice connecting educators and community-based organizations across continents to share tools, training, and best practices. Through this work, she collaborated closely with Kenya Connect and later joined the Kenya Connect Board of Trustees (USA) in June 2025.
Lindsay began her career as a public high school teacher in Kansas, teaching English, video production, and IB Film Studies, and coaching students in spoken word poetry. She later led open education initiatives at the CK-12 Foundation, served as adjunct faculty with the Johns Hopkins School of Education, and contributed to global education innovation as a Fellow with MIT Solve and the Jacobs Foundation.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Studies through the University of Victoria, Canada.
Lindsay shared, “It’s an honor — and a deep responsibility — to help lead Kenya Connect into its next chapter. I’ve been in Wamunyu, I’ve seen the programs at work, and I have felt the impact firsthand. I’m excited to help resource and amplify the incredible work happening there, and to champion the Kenya-led team as they strengthen programs across all six focus areas.”
Executive Director Sharon Runge commented, “I am thrilled with the selection of Lindsay as Kenya Connect’s next Executive Director. She will bring her passion and energy to our work and help build on our many successes and programs. I am deeply appreciative to the search committee for their dedicated work and thoughtful search process. I am excited for Kenya Connect’s next chapter and I am looking forward to working with Lindsay to ensure a smooth transition.”
The Kenya Connect staff are pleased too. Co-founder and Executive Director James Musyoka shared, “We are delighted to warmly welcome Lindsay Kincaid as the next Executive Director of Kenya Connect. We are truly excited to have her join the team in this important role. Her strong background in education, coupled with her deep passion and commitment to Kenya Connect’s mission, gives us great confidence in her leadership. We are confident that she will guide the organization forward as we continue working towards our vision of an empowered community that learns, grows, and thrives together. Welcome aboard, Lindsay!”
Lindsay will assume leadership on July 1, 2026, after Sharon retires on June 30.
