A passionate secondary school educator and administrator, Rebecca joined Kenya Connect in 2021 as our Professional Learning Coordinator. She was inspired by the positive influence of her teachers when she was in school. She felt motivated by how they welcomed learners of all backgrounds and instilled the knowledge and skills to make them better people impacting their worlds in various ways. This drove Rebecca’s zeal to walk in their footsteps and become an educator.
She believes that education is an equalizer. Her favourite quote is by Nelson Mandela that says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.
She is excited to help teachers get equipped with 21st century learning designs and skills through the Empowered School program, Teach 2030, the Seavuria STEM program and other educational initiatives.
