Lindsey Burns

Lindsey graduated with a B.A. in Communications from the University of New Hampshire and joined the admissions staff for the University. She and her husband, Jack (UNH ‘82), raised their 3 children (Taryn, Delaney & Keon) in Maine, Colorado and Oregon.

For ~30 years, Jack worked for Nike and Lindsey was a very active volunteer in their community. She served as PTO President and Volunteer Coordinator, fundraised, created arts enrichment programs, managed sports teams, hosted international as well as local students. In 2017, Lindsey & Jack retired and returned “home” to NH.

Lindsey was introduced to Kenya Connect through Sharon Runge. They attended UNH together and have been dear friends for decades. Lindsey was always very intrigued and curious whenever Sharon spoke of Kenya Connect and the amazing work the organization was doing in Wamunyu. In 2019, Lindsey had the pleasure of traveling to see Kenya Connect’s work first hand in Wamunyu and was amazed to see the breadth and scope of the work.

Lindsey loves to hike, ride her scooter bike, knit and make “Mama Burns” candles.
