Cindy Dyer brings her passion and skills in working with youth, mediation, the environment and technology to help Kenya Connect achieve its goals in rural Kenya. Cindy has been a youth leader with the Episcopal Church for over 10 years. She joined the KC Team in 2009 after visiting the Kenya Connect project site. Then, in 2012, Cindy assisted in leading a KC team of college students to work with schools in and near Wamunyu. Cindy is a trained mediator and works with the Mediation and Conflict Resolution Center at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. As part of her work with the center, she is a liaison dedicated to working with a local high schools in implementing restorative practices. She is experienced in community mediation as well as restorative dialogue and reflection. Prior to working with youth and mediation, Cindy was a technical professional. She has many years experience in systems design, both large and small systems, and continues to “dabble” in current technical challenges and interests as a hobby. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado in 1983.
