Being a Mentor for the Girl/Boy Empowerment Program

Blog > Focus Area: Empowerment, Stories

Being a mentor for girls has been incredibly fulfilling for me. When we started the Girl/Boy Empowerment program, I witnessed many of the girls were reserved and hesitant, often too shy to even introduce themselves. However, as the program progresses, it has been heartwarming to see the girls gain confidence, articulate their thoughts, and assert their boundaries. Watching them share their opinions and stand up for themselves without fear has brought me immense joy. Knowing that I am contributing to their growth and helping them realize their potential fuels my passion to come to work each day with the goal of helping them achieve their dreams and become agents of change in their families and communities.

I hope that the students will continue to develop understanding of their rights, navigate peer pressure with confidence, and maintain a strong sense of their personal boundaries. I envision a future where each student feels empowered to voice their needs, make informed decisions, and positively impact their community. My dream is that the lessons learned through our program will not only benefit them individually but also inspire broader change within their families and society, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and positive transformation.
