“People are afraid of what they don’t know, and I was too.”
– Caitlin Alifirenka,

“I Will Always Write Back” by Caitlin Alifirenka, Martin Ganda, and Liz Welch is a book about a PenPal Letter Exchange. Reading this book brought back powerful memories for me. As a student in a remote Kenyan school, I wrote pen pal letters through Kenya Connect. Fast forward to today: I now help thousands of students do the same as a staff member at Kenya Connect through global letter exchanges and interactive video calls.

Key lessons from the book:
One small act of kindness can change a life.

Friendship has no borders.

Access to education is a game-changer.

Stories connect us, no matter where we’re from.

What started as one letter changed two lives forever.
