Partnering with Parents

Blog > Focus Area: Empowerment, Stories

Partnerships and Mentorship are vital components of my work. I passionately represent Kenya Connect in various forums, engaging as a speaker or moderator at events, forging new partnerships, nurturing existing ones, mentoring students, and inspiring them to dream boldly. I also have the privilege of leading the Girl/Boy Empowerment program. It’s truly energizing to witness the direct impact of my work on the students, parents, and the broader community.

Recently, we hosted an impactful event with 400 parents in attendance. It was truly heartwarming to see the community come together to learn about their role in reducing teen pregnancy and gender-based violence. Our work is producing tangible results in the community, and it fills me with immense satisfaction to start each day knowing I have the opportunity to enrich someone else’s life.

Despite the formidable challenges in our community, I continue to be astounded by people’s resilience. Through our Girl/Boy Empowerment program and in collaboration with parents and community stakeholders, we are tirelessly striving to reduce teen pregnancy and gender-based violence and to create communities where children can thrive and realize their fullest potential.

The far-reaching impact of our work will reverberate for generations, and my fervent hope is that our programs will continue to transform the lives of our beneficiaries each and every day.
