About this program

Just imagine building a robot and being able to code it to move? It’s a thrill for our students and teachers to be using Scratch for the first time and then learning Python. Thanks to generous support from the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Team4Tech, we have initiated 86 code clubs at our partner schools. This entails teachers learning how to teach coding and robotics so they can deliver the content. It’s been exciting and energizing for the school communities… and they’re taking it far! Our teams have won 1st place at the World Robotics Olympiad in Kenya for two consecutive years: 2024 (Mbaikini Girls School Team) and 2025 (Kilembwa Secondary School Team)!

“Learning coding is fun because we learn how to make games like the ones we play on the phone.”

Maureen, Mutyangoi PS Grade 6
