About this program
Teachers are at the heart of education and they work tirelessly to foster learning for their students despite working in severely under-resourced schools. For the most part, text books and a blackboard are their tools. In 2023, Kenya Connect created and hosted the first annual Teacher Recognition Award Celebration in conjunction with World Teachers Day. Celebrating and thanking our partner teachers is the focus of the Teacher Recognition Awards with teachers who have gone beyond the call of duty in several categories being recognized.
“Winning a Teacher Recognition Award gave me a positive attitude in handling my learners. It also made me feel appreciated and honored. I feel good when my learners know how to read and love school.”
