About this program

Programs supporting environmental conservation education, including topics such as tree planting, climate change, biodiversity, waste management, renewable energy, and the conservation of water, soil, and air, have been held at partner schools. These environmental clubs call students to action to protect the environment and mitigate climate change including the planting of moringa, fruit, and shade trees. The trees have been grown in schools, at Kenya Connect and homesteads.

“I have learned how to conserve the environment and how to use Moringa as a supplement and food. I want the Moringa trees to become strong because I love Moringa and seeing them grow. Through the club, we have learnt some other things like conserving water, soils and air. I have not only learnt about application of manure in the trees but also making compost manure and different methods of irrigation. Most of the things we learnt in school have become more practical with the environment club. I have started loving trees through seeing how beautiful our Moringa grove in the school looks like and numerous benefits associated with trees.”
