About this program
Kenya Connect is The Village That Reads! We know that reading leads to fluency and comprehension while opening new worlds and ideas to students and their families. Our Library has over 50,000 books thanks to, BookAid International, Books for Africa and many generous donors! We continue to grow our collection with high quality stories and information books in English and Kiswahili. In 2022, we opened the Library Learning Center (LLC) with the first community Library for over 100 km.
“Two year old Jerome who lives in Machakos Town visited the library with his mother for the first time. He was so animated when he saw the big books with the amazing beautiful pictures. He wanted to read all the books! He especially loves cars and he was ecstatic when he came across the big book, “I Love Trucks” by Philemon Sturges. He excitedly opened the book and began to do a book safari. We are proud to share that Jerome is now a library card member!”
