“A teacher affects eternity; he cannot tell where his influence stops.” This message was the theme of the 2025 Teacher Recognition Awards. It reflected the spirit of the celebration as educators expressed pride in the meaningful relationships they build with learners.
The Kenya Connect Teacher Recognition Awards 2025 were held on 3 October 2025 to celebrate exceptional teachers for their outstanding performance in transforming education within our partner schools. The ceremony brought together 80 teachers from across the Kenya Connect partner network, creating an inspiring moment dedicated to advancing quality education in the Rural community. The celebration emphasized the critical role of educators as champions of innovation, inclusive learning, and community empowerment.
A total of 13 teachers were recognized across four categories: Leadership and Management, Tech Award, Literacy Award, and Beyond the Call of Duty. The honorees represented pre-primary, primary, junior secondary, and secondary schools.
Speaking after receiving the Literacy Award, Catherine from Kisaani ECD shared that she encourages learners to choose new stories each time to make reading fun and to ensure that every child experiences a safe and kind learning environment that supports their growth as readers
In the Tech Award category, Samuel from Kyeengai Primary School noted that empowering students through technology inspires his work, explaining that he has even provided personal internet access so that “the whole school community can benefit from digital skills and opportunities”
The awards instilled a renewed sense of motivation and unity among teachers as they continue shaping a brighter future for children and communities in Kenya.
