Building Student Confidence

Blog > Focus Area: Empowerment, General News

As we work to ensure that children leave education with options, we also work on developing their confidence and self-esteem. Through our empowerment programs, we provide opportunities for students to express themselves while building their public speaking and leadership skills.

Recently, we partnered with Daraja Academy for their WISH and The Man I Am programs. These programs are designed to build the capacity of girls and boys to develop unique character traits and become strong grassroots leaders in their communities.

Just seven weeks into these programs at two of our partner schools, we are already witnessing significant growth in our students. They are gaining confidence, learning to express themselves, and developing a positive outlook on life. Anita at Mbaikini Girls shared, “The WISH program has been beneficial in empowering us to know we are women of integrity, strength, and hope, and it has also helped improve our confidence.”

We are grateful to the Gupta Family Foundation for connecting us with Daraja Academy and providing opportunities for collaboration among organizations in their network.
