Kenya Connect has been working with parents to create income generation projects to empower them with new skills and to help them pay school fees so their children can stay in school . Our LitMom Apiary was funded by our friends at the Ford Motor Company.
Beekeeping has been a journey of patience and hard work, but seeing our first harvest is proof that our efforts have paid off. We now believe that women can do beekeeping which used to be perceived as men’s work. Now, with the income from our honey, we can strengthen our table banking, support each other, and even pay school fees for our children. This project is truly changing our lives. Big thanks to Kenya Connect for supporting through training, advice and marketing our honey. – Teresia Mutuku, Litmom Beekeeping Group.
