“Are all those books ours?” This week marked the start of a new chapter at Matulani Comprehensive school, one of Kenya Connect’s partner schools, which is over 30km from our center. A remote library with 1503 books has been launched providing access to books and new beginnings and opportunities for the students. At the launch, 167 library cards were issued! This means more children will explore books, pursue curiosity and become critical thinkers.

Mr. David commented, “Thank you Kenya Connect for supporting our school with books and learning resources. We will make sure the children read them even if it means having DEAR time every Sunday afternoon when children are not engaged at home. We are proud to be associated with Kenya Connect.“

Brian, a student shared “We are amazed by the good books that Kenya Connect has brought to us. I can’t wait to read a title I have spotted about football.

Some of the students that came to help in shelve the books could not keep calm… they kept picking up and perusing different books. Opening page after page lit a reading fire in them. When Grade 3 learners visited the library, they were beaming with pride and exclaimed, “Wow we have a library!: They all picked books and got busy reading.
