They learned about communication with their children, sexual reproduction, and how to prevent gender-based violence and what to do if it happens. We are grateful to Dr Maina Gioko and Mr. Abdikadir Ismael for leading the session on "Assessing Learning Formatively." Teacher Fridah of Kaliambeu shared, "This session has come at the right time. I will try out several assessment tools in my classroom. I will particularly be giving learners the ability to make their own choices in learning. For example, allowing them to choose questions of their choice in a learning area to answer." #professionaldevelopment #teachers #assessment

What was your favorite field trip? The Girl/Boy E What was your favorite field trip? The Girl/Boy Empowerment Program students from Lema and Nyaani Primary Schools visited the Kenya Connect Campus last week on a Field Trip. For some of these students, it was their first time leaving their village. For others, it was the first time they had seen a multi-level building, held Legos in their hands, turned on a computer, or seen that many books in one place. Faith Doucette shared, "it was exciting to see students from both schools interact with each other, engage in conversations, and learn together. It was remarkable to see the growth in these students and to see them apply the lessons they've learned, such as asking for consent before touching someone else and respecting their and other people's body boundaries." #fieldtrip #kenya #girlboyempowerment @mothersdaymovementmdm @circleofsisterhood
