Matthew Bowman

On his first trip to Wamunyu, Matthew Bowman was given the Kikamba name “Ngumbau” which means the warrior. He is a corporate attorney, working in the Washington, D.C. office of a multi-national law firm. In 2015, Matt and members of his law firm provided pro bono legal services which enabled Kenya Connect to obtain 501(c)(3) status. Matt has a law degree from Wake Forest School of Law and an undergraduate degree in political science from SUNY Brockport.
Matt first attended a Kenya Connect fundraiser in 2013 and has been an active supporter ever since. In his spare time, Matt is an avid traveler, reader, hiker, and always looking for D.C.’s next great restaurant. Matt is also a regular volunteer at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville, MD.
