Learn

An integral component of Kenya Connect outreach programs is to provide Western schoolchildren with the opportunity to learn about Kenya’s Kamba culture in real-time through pen pal exchange and school sponsorship. The following initiatives supplement these learning experiences.

The Kenya Project

The Kenya Project is offers students a cultural immersion into life in Kenya. Offered as a workshop up to a two day residency program for grades 1 – 6, music, dance, games and other East African-based hands-on workshops are explored. This program is conducted by Executive Director Tim Gregory and offered through Nada Brahma Productions.

Tami the teacher with kids in Kenyan classroom

"What a life-changing experience it was to visit our partner school in Kenya. The students were overwhelmingly welcoming and highly enthusiastic learners. I especially enjoyed talking with some of the teachers. Even across the world we can share teaching ideas that will result in encouraging our students to love learning.  My experience will also help my students be better pen pals to our friends at the Mbaikini Primary School. I am looking forward to sharing this incredibly positive experience with my students!"
